Kiao Wan Thai

Wonderful food! Everything is fresh and delicious. Very well-balanced flavors. Last time I had the Thai Basil Stir-Fry and Green Papaya Salad; today I had the Green Curry and Green Papaya Salad with shrimp while my friend had Shrimp Pad Thai. All excellent! The desserts aren't to be missed -- be sure to save room because they are amazing creations of European forms with Asian favor profiles (like Ube Terracotta or Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake just as examples). The kitchen is open, and everything is very clean and cheerful. Chef June is warm and welcoming as are all of the staff. A gem in western Mass!

I live in South Hadley and was in the commons for Valentine’s Day and my fiancé and I decided to check this place out and I couldn’t have been happier. Everyone was extremely welcoming and sweet, the place is small, but very cute and clean, they had flowers set up at all the tables and were giving away cups of iced tea and chocolate flowers for couples. Chef June clearly runs the place and makes the food with love and she made my first Valentine’s Day with my fiancé very special. The food is something I cannot say enough good things about, I had the yellow curry and it was honestly one of if not the best curry dish I’ve ever had. As we were leaving, chef June had us take 2 real roses and thanked us for spending our first Valentine’s Day there. I have been telling everyone about this place

I went on  a trip and had Kiao Wan for lunch. I ordered the Ube custard with coconut cream and beef noodle soup, it was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was so kind and welcoming. I am so jealous of the students at Mount Holyoke and Umass who get to eat here all the time!

I ordered take out from here for the first time, and I ordered the fresh spring roll, chicken massaman curry, jasmine rice, and cha manao (homemade thai lime tea). Everything was so delicious, flavorful, and suited my taste palette!!! Nothing was under seasoned and the portion sizes for takeout were great so i have leftovers for my next meal. The staff was so friendly when they were taking my order and giving it to me. Service was quick and direct. It was so cute that there was a little tea sticker on my drink and it came in a bamboo holder. This is the best Thai food in the area that I've tried, and I've been searching for good South East Asian food in Western Mass for a few years. What a gem! I'm Vietnamese/Chinese and have grown up eating southeast Asian food and this is hands down the best Thai place in the Valley. It is authentic, made with fresh ingredients to order. We had the crispy tofu app which was lightly breaded and perfectly fried. The Pad Thai was excellently sauced with the perfect balance of sweet, salty and tang-- no dry clumps of noodles! The Kiao Wan green curry was also perfectly balanced and tasted fresh with a delightful spicy kick that wasn't overpowering. The staff is very welcoming and kind, and the service was prompt. The owner came and checked on us a couple of times and it's clear she genuinely cares. This is not just another cheap takeout place, this is a TOP restaurant that should NOT be skipped.
