Key West Blue Crab

What a great find! We loved meeting the owners of this crab food truck—a family who moved from Maryland to open a crab spot just outside of Key West. Super friendly and welcoming. The dad sets crab traps daily, and the mom and son run the business. The crabs are live and steamed to order. We enjoyed the crabs outside at a picnic table the old-fashioned way—paper on the table, wooden mallets in hand, and a crab meat picker. So fun! The crabs were incredibly fresh, sweet, and locally caught—absolutely delicious! Bonus: the Sugar Shack next door lets customers use their restroom to wash up, and their locally made lavender ice cream was amazing. A total win-win. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the Keys!

We have been getting live blue claw crabs from this amazing local family for years, and they have always been outstanding. We are so excited that they now have a food truck, Key West Blue Crab, located at Mile Marker 15. We tried a lobster po’boy sandwich while picking up some crabs. Everything was fresh, the roll was perfectly toasted, and the lobster pieces were tender and flavorful. They graciously made it a little less seasoned for me because of medical reasons, which I truly appreciated. The sandwich came with French fries that were crisp, golden, and tasty. Everything was excellent and absolutely delicious, and we are excited to try more items from their menu next time. The blue claw crabs we got were excellent as well. In 5 years of living in The Keys, this is the best meal that we have ever had! The food truck sits in the back of The Sugar Shark (a little grocery/gift shop at MM15, right next to Baby's Coffee) so it is hard to see from the road. But, trust me, it is worth the stop... They even have markers so that you can sign your name on the truck. My husband and I ordered the Lobster Po Boy and the Crab Cake Sandwich, both with their boardwalk fries. We cut both sandwiches in half and shared them. I never take pictures of my food, but I had to here. You could see the lump crab meat in the sandwich... We sat at one of the picnic tables to enjoy our delicious meals. We worth both blown away by how good it was. Wonderful family run business. Great people and great food.

Wow! We were in the Keys for a week and ate out a great deal. This was the best meal we had. I had a crab cake sandwich and fries and my sister had the crab tacos. The food was amazing! Tasty, well cooked and amazing. Definitely worth pulling into this little food truck and hope the chef owns a restaurant soon as well.

Went here with my husband tonight and boy this place did not disappoint! My husband is from Maryland and we love blue crab, this place made us feel like we are back home! I got the Crab poke bowl and was shocked on the amount of crab i received. I did get mine without the eel sauce but got some sauces on the side which were all great! Highly recommend stopping here! They’re right outside of Sugar Shark :)
