Kel's Tavern

Our first visit to Kel’s. Redd was our server and she made sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I split the wedge salad (pictured) and the balsamic glaze was a great touch! For our mains, we had the Tavern burger and Chicken sandwich (grilled) then shared the sides. The baked mac & cheese and broccoli casserole were delish! All our food was great! We’ll def be back. :)

We try to find local restaurants to enjoy on road trips and Kel’s did not disappoint! The service was superb! Our server greeted us with a smile and couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive throughout our whole meal. The restaurant is comfortable and has a very relaxed, but energetic vibe. The food was delicious! We enjoyed the fried green tomato appetizer (yum!), salad (OMG those homemade croutons!!) and meatloaf sandwich (scrumptious and hearty!). The portions were very plentiful. It was a very quick distance off the highway and if we’re passing through this way again, we will definitely make this a must stop!

Everything we had was very good. I had the fFish & Chips. The fish was tender with a reasonable amount of crisp breading. The fries were seasoned fries which are not my favorite, but they were perfectly crispy and the aoli was fantastic! My wife's meatloaf was nicely prepared, but some of the herbs were a tad overpowering (but still good). I really like how they crisp up the outside. I have never seen it prepared that way. My wife's sides we're also very good, particularly the broccoli casserole! Loved it! If you haven't tried this place yet, I highly recommend you give it a go.

Had a mid-afternoon lunch at this new restaurant. It's located where Sergio's used to be. The interior is all still the same with lots of booths and tables and the full bar at the back of the room. Service was attentive and actually a little too much. That was confusing because a mom came in with her excited 10 year old son. After they were seated and given menus, no one waited on them and they left after 20 minutes or so. I felt bad for them and the youth seemed disappointed. As far as the food: I tried the fresh made mozzarella wedges. The 3 pieces came with marinara sauce on them and topped with shaved parmesan cheese. I would have preferred the sauce on the side. First bites at Kel’s Tavern, in Elk City, and we’re already planning our return! From the mouthwatering Meatloaf Sandwich (with the best bacon ever) to the juicy Tavern Burger, every bite was a delight. And shoutout to our amazing server James for making our experience just plain great! If you haven’t been yet, get going, what are you waiting for? -Amy
