The overall experience wasn’t terrible. I felt that the portion of sausage gravy was small for the order. Also when we asked for a 3rd cup of coffee when we were finished with our meals they suggested a to go cup. I get the fact you want to turn tables and make money but another cup of coffee isn’t going to kill your profits. I’ve been to Deluca and Pamela’s which I think IMO are better than KellyO’S. Average breakfast at best nothing really stands out for me.
Visited on October 5, 2025, around lunchtime. Upon arrival, my guest and I found a lengthy line outside the door which usually signals a popular local spot. We waited roughly 25 minutes before being seated. To their credit, the owner kept the waiting crowd entertained, which helped pass the time. Once inside, it was clear that space is limited. Tables are packed tightly, and the diner operates at full capacity, especially during Sunday brunch hours. Our server, Carrie, greeted us promptly and took our drink orders while we looked over the extensive breakfast menu. Our Order: Western Omelet: $18.67 Loaded with ham, onions, green peppers, and cheddar cheese. Nicely cooked with a rich, cheesy filling. However, note that home fries are not included and cost extra. (3) Buttermilk Pancakes: $
Kelly O's was delightful. The service was efficient, and our meal was brought out promptly. We were fortunate to be seated right away, as the packed dining room suggests a wait is typically to be expected. The food was excellent, certainly living up to its reputation following the feature on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It's definitely a culinary experience worth seeking out if you are in the area.
We ordered the highly recommended Pittsburgh Benedict which combines a life of bread with pierogies, diced onions, kielbasa, fried (instead of the typical poached) egg and just richly seasoned hollandaise sauce. I didn’t know this combo could taste this good! So delicious that my Jersey husband says it’s the best benedict ever- this coming from a guy who grew up in the land of diners. Great service, kind people and very tasty food made to order.
I had the most amazing Eggs Benedict at this restaurant! The dish was absolutely delicious, with perfectly poached eggs and a creamy, flavorful hollandaise sauce. The potatoes on the side were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Definitely one of the best breakfast spots I’ve visited in Pittsburgh. 10/10 would highly recommend!
