Chef Oliver was fantastic, explaining all the fish, origin and sharing tips he uses. The sushi was a fantastic mix of flavors, flamed courses including smoke, garlic, with excellent presentation. The Chef even set my wife’s sushi up for her being left handed for picking up. The entire experience was fantastic, coming from an avid fisherman (including tuna). Highly recommend it.
Not all bites were amazing but majority of them were. Overall still had a great experience. I cannot remember what drink I ordered but it was my favorite item for the night. Need to reserve a spot online before dining here for omakase.
This 13-course omakase, accompanied by dessert, offers an exceptional dining experience. The service is impeccable, with a score of 10 out of 10. The food is equally impressive, earning a perfect score of 10. The atmosphere is also top-notch, with a score of 10 out of 10. The omakase is served in a counter seating arrangement, and there are three chefs for each group, accommodating no more than 4-6 people. The portion of fish and rice is perfectly balanced, and the pace of the meal is well-maintained. The chefs regularly check in to ensure that you’re enjoying your experience. Would recommend, make sure you make your reservation via RESY.
I’ve been to about 5-6 NYC omakases around this price range and I think Kazumi Omakase is the best one so far. Menu emphasizes the quality and flavor of their fish selections. No need for many toppings or gimmicks, just amazing fish. Standout pieces were akami, truffle Wagyu, Hokkaido uni. We received complimentary sake which was a nice bonus. Crème brulee cheesecake was a nice end to the meal. Ambience was very comforting, it gives off a modern, warm feel that is cozy. Special shout out to chef Wayne, excellent precision and attention to detail, while also being very friendly. 10/10, would come back.
Came here for the 13-course, $75 omakase and glad to say we weren’t disappointed, I had one of the better omakase experiences I’ve had in the city. Everything was super fresh and good quality for the price, with some standouts being the seared Wagyu, toro, and uni. Also enjoyed the small miso cheesecake and the Peach Yuzu Soda I ordered (not included). The chefs were friendly and informative regarding any questions we had about the fish/ingredients. It’s more spacious inside than other omakase spots I’ve been to, as they have both bar counter seating and regular table seating.
