Customer Reviews
When I asked if want bun or paste . He rough reply said get from counter and already pre made or pack. Refused to get inside the bar cover counter .Taste brought a lot bread or cake. Some taste fresh and And some are hard stale. Not sure how long is been there until it actually sold. There no timedate on pack. Treat other customers better. Wonder how shop receive B grade ? Probably food is stale and dishonest
Was looking for sponge cakes and dropped into this little bakery, which had the biggest head for a sponge cake I have purchased compared to other chain bakeries in Chinatown area. We'll worth the price point and will come back when I am in the area to try other baked goods.
Ka Wah Bakery on Eldridge Street in Chinatown, NYC offers a delightful array of traditional Chinese pastries and treats. The walnut cookie was perfectly crisp and packed with nutty flavor, a true delight for the taste buds. The pork bun was savory and satisfying, with tender meat encased in fluffy, steamed dough. The melon cakes were a unique treat, with a delicate sweetness and a hint of refreshing melon flavor. Paired with a cup of coffee, the experience was elevated to pure indulgence. Overall, Ka Wah Bakery offers an authentic taste of Chinatown with its delicious offerings and friendly service.
This small, no nonsense Chinese bakery has a limited selection which they make exceptionally well. The items are old school Cantonese style buns, pastries, and cookies. The prices are cheaper than other places in the area. Stand-outs are the egg tarts, old lady (lo por) cakes, and almond cookies. The buns are just okay. If you are lucky you can get some fresh out of the oven goodies.
No-frill Chinese bakery tucked away on Eldridge selling delicious freshly baked eggs tarts, sponge cake, sweet and savory bread, and traditional filled-pastries like moon cake, wife cake, and egg yolk cake. Cash only.
