Juan More Taco RVA

OMG I didn't think I could love JMT more than I did when they had a location in Fredericksburg, but somehow the RVA location was EVEN BETTER!!! Walking in you could just feel the positive energy of the place, and everyone already seated was smiling, enjoying the food, and just generally very cheery. We were greeted as soon as our feet hit the floor by Moe -- a tall, imposing man whose kindness & courtesy is only matched by his stature -- and we were seated right away (lucky us, too, they got BUSY within 5 mins of our arrival). I ordered the California Burrito (w/ carne asada), my wife ordered the burrito bowl w/ chicken, and our 21yo daughter ordered a burrito w/ chicken and a Pornstar Martini. We also ate some plaintains and street corn fritters -- BOTH of these apps are HIGHLY RECOMME

so so good as a vegetarian I’d rather never go anywhere else for Mexican. I got a passionfruit margarita the queso and chips and the crunch wrap with vegan meat. I enjoyed everything and all around me people were telling the waiter how much they loved their food so it definitely wasn’t just me who loved their food.

Every single bite I’ve had here (and I’m close having tried every veg option on the menu) is so satisfying and absolute perfection! Everyone I’ve talked to about it says the same thing about JMT: there is so much love in their food. This is not your average taco spot, it’s really special with traditional Honduran recipes and fun takes on modern favorites. The vegan asada Crunchwrap is an easy choice. Everything they put out is a balance of fresh and smoky and good-chewy and so much flavor. It is paired with a salsa verde with just the perfect amount of spicy Serrano flavor. Dear Vegans, I found you the best bite of food in Richmond: the vegan Al pastor nachos at Juan More Taco! I cannot believe the depth of flavor in the dish and the quality of the mushrooms every single time. It is out of this world, especially with the vegan queso. The burrito bowl with vegan asada is so fresh, savory, and has that perfect meaty chew. Another all time favorite is the Summer corn cakes- expertly balanced with a delicate sweetness. The specials on Tuesdays are so affordable and portions are always generous. I’m so grateful that talented chefs like Maria share their traditional flavors with vegan proteins so that everyone can experience and enjoy them. Juan more taco had really good drinks, a nice atmosphere, and the food was good. The server was very nice, but I felt like he had too many tables, and the food took a wild come out. We went on a Tuesday, where they have a list of entrées that are half off, so we expected our bill to be much lower than it was. I will say the food was very good, the chips were some of the best chips I think I have ever had, they had a smoky salt on them that paired so nicely with salsa and queso. I got the loaded nachos and they were very generous in proportion and smothered with queso. I would definitely go back, but be sure to go when you aren't in a rush.
