So happy that I finally had some time while back in CT to grab some food from J&R! Portions are fantastic, fires are amazing. I picked up my order just as it was packaged. My only recommendation would to put the freshly friend fish on a cooling rack to drain excess oil instead of directly onto the fries. May be the case and my timing, but that’s the only complaint. The staff are friendly, in person, on the phone, and all of the food is extremely fresh and worth every penny. Will absolutely be coming back next time I’m back in town. I ordered 2 fish sandwiches, 2 orders of fish and chips, and 1 order of fried shrimp. Outstanding!

Best lobster roll in New England. Moved here for the summer in April. Made a mission to try all the lobster rolls. Started at J&R Seafood. Four months later it is still the best lobster roll in New England. Five stars. Highly recommended.

Definitely worth the trip to Mystic! I've been wanting to try the clam fritters for weeks and finally got a chance to get there on a Thursday. They did not disappoint! Served piping hot in a brown bag with lemon and fresh made tartar. The batter was fried to a perfect golden brown and the clams plentiful. I also had the Tuna Poke Bowl from the Grab and Go section. It was superb! The tuna was delicious and the veggies nice and crunchy. I will definitely go back!

Tl;dr: Solid 4.5 star lobster roll. Order the clam fritters too Cook kindly fried 2 clam fritters upon request so that I could have pipping hot fritters. Lobster roll was well buttered and meat was fresh tasting. Half a star off as claw meat tasted dry - was it reheated? Bun was delicious and fluffy. Clam fritters The long fry time gave the fritters a dark brown almost burnt look, but it is not! Great flavor and chew. And the craggy protrusions meant great crunch. They provide tartar sauce to pair with the fritters. Tasted house made, tangy and creamy. Clams were sweet, fresh, slightly briny. Yummy.

Plenty of FRESH seafood options and they have frozen options too. They have soups and sauces kept in their refrigerator. I usually get their salmon, scallops or tuna and they're always well. I bought some fresh lobster and made a wonderful lobster grilled cheese. It was great.
