JoJack's Espresso Bar & Cafe

If i could give this place a 20/10 i would. Absolutely phenomenal food (i ordered the fresh herb and sausage pancakes and a purple haze latte). Everything was the perfect proportions and everyone that worked there was so kind. They did take a little while to bring out my food (not that I minded, the atmosphere of light jazz and casual conversation in the background could've held me hostage there all day) and they gave me a coffee refill and a cinnamon roll on the house for the wait! (The cinnamon roll went to my mom and she said it was one of the best she's ever had). Overall i have to say i will be back and this place will be in my brunch recommendations to friends and family in the future!

I am always looking for great food spots in Portsmouth. I passed this spot and decided to look up their menu. I saw several items on their breakfast menu that I wanted to try. We went on a Sunday at 10am. It's a small dining area but there were a few open tables. You seat yourself and order at the counter. They have an extensive menu of coffee, drinks, and smoothies. I ordered hot jasmine tea, my friend ordered sweet tea. For food, I selected the mushroom and avocado bowl over grits and a side of pan fried potatoes. My friend ordered the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and a side of eggs. The food was fresh and delicious. I loved the fresh parmesian cheese over the potatoes. The pancakes were light and fluffy. The service was excellent. We'll definitely be back to try lunch.

Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable of their products. Jordan is fantastic! She greeted us with a warm welcome and maintained her emotional resilience when their credit card machine was acting wonky. It’s hard to find genuine people in hospitality industry. Thank you for taking care of your guests! Food is ALWAYS good and location is clean. Must experience your self!

Great! It was my first time there. Jo (one of the owners) took the time to answer any questions I had regarding substitutions on food. I ordered the big breakfast but subbed regular pancakes for the apple fritter pancakes, which are a must. I ordered a purple haze latte. Little did I know, as she turned around and drew the little character you see on the cup in the photo, that I went to find a table. While I was seated, several servers and her brother Jackson (the other owner) came by to check and see if I needed anything. The restaurant is small, perfect for one or two people to come in and grab a quick bite. Their menu is pretty extensive for breakfast and lunch. You can find something for everyone. They also have coffees and smoothies, not to mention a drive-through for quick grab-and-g

I tried their mushroom, spinach book over grits with avocado, and a poached egg with a scone. Was craving something different , and they definitely delivered. Everything was absolutely delicious if you're a fan of the ingredients, which are my favorites. Hidden gem worth trying! Update 3/19/2024 Absolutely mouth watering for a person that loves veggie Omelets and Brie, very authentic touch , with a warm soul food feeling. Philly with Brie is absolutely amazing as well!! 11 months later , it still never ceases to amaze! If you like to try different things with a twist of greatness, definitely check them out!
