John Boy's BBQ & Seafood

Atmosphere is cool. Reminds me of places I ate at as a kid. The BBQ is really bland and overpriced. We added a side to a meal, and at $4.00 for a tiny bowl, definitely not worth it. Popcorn shrimp and hush puppies were great, as were the fries. If you want popcorn shrimp, fries and hush puppies this is a good spot. If you want BBQ, better go elsewhere.

This is a walk up and order restaurant. No table service. Staff is polite and welcoming. Food was OK. Sandwiches was not warm. Hush puppies were hot. It's basically a fast food style restaurant.

I ordered the popcorn shrimp and my wife ordered chicken tenders. My shrimp was ok, but my wife's tenders looked like two of them had been left in the fryer too long. They were dark brown and very crispy. She pulled the crispy breading off and then ate them. The young lady behind was very nice.

Good ol' country cooking with a hometown service and atmosphere.

Nothing fancy here folks, but it is darned good old time solid value here! Place is clean, staff was friendly, and the food quite tasty. The smoked chopped pork barbecue was as it should be. The standard coleslaw was tasty, the baked potato couldn't be better and the hushpuppies are fine. You order and pay at the counter, then go pick up your order when your number is called. But oh my stars...what a bargain! And that process helps keep their value and food so good. 4-1/2 stars would be my actual rating. Yes I recommend and will return! Two plates as pictured on the daily special will cost less than $13 with tax if you drink water. Can't pass that up! Good variety on the menu, too.
