The Yellow Door Café

Walked in on a Friday morning, and not crowded, just one person seated & waiting on his food. But they had outdoor seating too, so we chose that for the weather was great. Waitress was very attentive & brought drinks right away. The food came out quickly & both dishes - chicken & waffles and the Rueben were very good. I am not often in Elkin when the Yellow Door is open - serving Breakfast 🍳 , Lunch & Brunch, closing early afternoon. But certainly will come back for more meals when we can.

We were driving through and needed to stop somewhere for breakfast. Very tasty. Fries are crispy. Friendly service. Worth a detour! I got the Muffaletta sandwich (different type of "ciabatta bun" than we have in Toronto but it's okay), and my husband got the Reuben. We got chicken fingers on the side. No complaints.

Omg, what a hidden gem. This place is a must try. The menu was so creative. Hands down the best restaurant in Elkin. We tried several items on the menu, Quiche, Crab Dip, Chicken and Waffles, Muffaletta, Key Lime Pie, and. Strawberry Shortcake dessert. I had PLENTY of leftovers. The prices were so reasonable for this caliber of food. Our bill was $50 for all of those dishes. The food quality was the BEST in town. Fresh, creative, affordable and so tasty.

Very small and cramped with overpriced food. But hey... Week old cake is $2 dollars yall. Asked for a well-done burger but was pink inside. I cooked it longer at home but it just turned more red. So, I guess the meat was cooked well but the dye didn't break down? I don't know but I threw it out. Our drinks were filled frequently but never full glasses for some reason. To go orders were prioritized over diners who already had orders in and on the service line. Server was good.

Service was great and attentive. Had the collard greens wontons to start which were tasty but a little over cooked. Fresh bread on both of our sandwiches was a huge plus! A cute, cozy place.
