Joey D’s Chicago Style Eatery & Pizzeria

As someone born and raised in Chicago who moved to Florida five years ago, the one thing I’ve missed most is the food. The flavors tasted just like home, to the point where I couldn’t stop thinking about it and had to come back again within the same week. The service was amazing, everyone is genuinely friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better. On top of that, the Chicago themed decor throughout the place is such a fun touch and really adds to the whole vibe. If you’re from Chicago or just want authentic, comforting food done right, this spot is a must.

We spent the entire weekend in St Pete eating at fancy restaurants. Spent a ton of money. Didn’t blow my dress up. My wife Denise and I stopped at Joey D’s out of the blue. Denise ordered the Italian sausage sandwich. I ordered the small Chicago pizza with pepperoni. It was so damn good I got mad at the other restaurants. Chrissy our server was warm and engaged with us. This food is outstanding. Also, I just spent last year in Italy and Malta. This food is authentic Italian. Actually as good or better than the old country. Don’t hesitate. We all need to support this family owned restaurant. Well done! Oh yeah, don’t leave without taking home a frozen Chicago pizza!

When I got out of the truck and walked towards the front I was filled with excitement. Seeing all the Chicago team’s logos outside and upon entering the atmosphere was nostalgic. Right before we chose to go here tonight my wife was telling me how much she didn’t like Chicago styled food and midway through our meal all that changed we ordered the Chicago dog, Italian beef rolls and meatballs every single one was amazing and I don’t even like meatballs!!!! Bathroom was very clean, the bartender didn’t talk much with us but was exceptional in service with checking up and the kitchen sent food out in good time. I manage a sports bar across the skyway and I can say I have not enjoyed a meal or atmosphere this much in a long too, seriously this is like my first review ever. We live Chicago and l

For anyone wanting a temu version of Chicago food this is the place. I was born and raised in the Chicago land area and have also spent some time in New York trying some of the very best that pizza has to offer. This pizza was not even close to the worst pizza place in Chicago. While the food was edible it lacked flavor. The sauce was very sweet to the point that you can’t tell it was tomato sauce. On to a more positive note the place does have a great atmosphere that makes it almost feel like you are in a Chicago restaurant or bar. The people that work there are also super friendly and always have a smile on their face. In closing I will not be returning unless it is for a beer and not for the food.

My wife and I went to the Palmetto location for their deep dish special. We had Mack as our server. We ordered the deep dish with sausage, mushrooms and pepperoni. No pepperoni on the pizza and Mack graciously removed the charge. The pizza was excelent to the pint that my wife ordered one to take home ! We also had the Italian beef wraps - delicious ! I highly recommend coming here as not only is the food and atmosphere great but the serviceis above and beyond ! Thank you Mack !!!
