JJ fish & chicken

Stopped by the other day for some fried cat fish and J&J’s did not disappoint. Ordered cat fish and fried okra. The fish was steaked just like I like it!!! It was hot and fresh and seasoned just right. My husband got the lemon pepper wings. The wings were very very very small but, they taste very good.

These people are so stinking slow for uber eats pickups and it's been this way for years with no improvement. It's like they don't even pay attention to the orders that are coming through and they don't even realize there's an uber eats order till you arrive and say you're there for that person and then they start preparing it. Generally, we are not being paid that much for their specific restaurant. If we're getting over $6.50 for there, it's a miracle so if they don't have it ready in under ten minutes, it's not worth it for us to just keep standing around and letting them waste our time. We have bills to pay. And of course, after canceling that order, I immediately got a 19 dollar offer for two other places. Please be on top of things over there for everybody else's sake. I tried this restaurant because of some of the good reviews. This place has a weird dirty mop smell. That should have beeny first clue. It's extremely hot in here too. So the employees are probably miserable. The food was terrible. The food is not fresh. The wings have no seasoning at all. The fries were extremely soggy. We tried the legs, thighs, wings, catfish nuggets and catfish fillets. The food is not worth the money we spent. We should have just went to Sharks. The food taste old and the fish had a really fishy taste. Like the catfish was old or not properly stored. This place is definitely not worth going to at all.

I stumbled upon this JJ on mistake a few years ago. I ordered JJ on the phone in homewood years ago thinking it was the white castle on halsted in homewood. To my surprise when i got there it was a sharks now i think. So im guessing they closed down or moved since i last went to JJ homewood location. Anyway I put the new address into my gps and it led me to a JJ Fish on Kedzie. To my surprise the food from this location was so so so good. Now I travel past 5 or 6 fish restaurants just to come to this one. They haven't messed up my food yet so I will just keep driving the extra miles to come to this JJ in homewood. It's worth it! Ordered delivery called to make sure all sauces would be sent with my order. No cocktail or tartar sauce. Called back he said O I forgot. Very unprofessional and what is the point of calling and asking for something and being told they would add to your order and the only thing they can say is I FORGOT! No! The food was fried extra hard near burnt (maybe the grease was bad needed to be changed) and there was no seasoning on my food. I have had way better JJ’s I do not recommend this restaurant and will never order from here again. 0/10 for me!!!!
