Jerk Sauce

I am a native Virginian and was visiting for the holiday season. I went at night for the reggae set. Its a vibe. The DJs were awesome. It wasnt crowded and several people were dancing. Its a smaller space. The drinks were poured to my liking as well. I will make it a staple to visit when I return.

I’m sorry I don’t normally write reviews but I most definitely had to for this meal. I am a big fan of Jamaican food.. in fact I eat it at least 3 times a week. Today I decided to try a new restaurant since I am new to the area. I ordered oxtail with rice & peas, and this is what I received. 3 pieces of oxtail with a scoop of rice for $28??? I’m sorry but this was disappointing and a rip off to say the least & I will not make the same mistake of ordering from here again. Please do better because this is not right especially for the price you’re charging

Food was horrendous, never in my life would I expect mac and cheese to not taste even close to the name, just a mushy nasty mess. The only the slightly edible was the oxtail, I would hope so cause how can you mess up oxtail? but seeing as how the mac and cheese was awful it makes sense. sorry I really tried to finish my food and couldn't, there was only one person working and he was polite but very relaxed didn't seem bothered by the food quality to me.

I was talking to the server in the restaurant asking for food suggestions as one does when going to a new restaurant, she was also courteous enough to give me a sample of the tropical bbq chicken (would not recommend). The chef was VERY RUDE his words were “stop asking questions to know if everything tastes good and just order your food” I really went for fried plantains and decided to get dinner but that was my mistake!!! The rice tasted burnt, the jerk chicken was salty, the plantains were the saving grace.DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY with this restaurant… go to Popeyes/Subway or just get a rotisserie chicken from Food Lyon .. but DO NOT waste your HARRD EARNED money here!!!!! ZEROOOOOO STARSSSSSS!

Spacious Location, Food is Delicious, Very Tasty and Authentic. Meats are cooked well, nice and soft. Hospitable staff and Convenient 7 Day Hours!
