This place is absolutely spectacular! Everything is made daily and the staff are very knowledgable and helpful when it comes to their desserts. My first time there, I was helped by a girl named Sahad (? she also said she went by Bree, I'm sorry if I spelled it wrong.) and she was very kind and explained the items to me, and the second time I was helped by the owner! So far everything that I've had has been amazing and unique, with a great flavour. So far I have tried the halwat el jibn, warbat, qatayef and cream basbousa. I have absolutely no complaints about anything, and next time I'll try the kunafa. I've also had the biscoff latte, and while its a little pricey, you can tell that they use a lot of biscoff and not just cookie butter syrup, which makes the latte decadent and smooth. To m
Delicious! I thought it would be impossible to taste as good as they look but they do! Incredible with black tea. Highly recommend checking them out. They don't have a light up sign outside yet so you'll have to trust Google maps to lead you there and it is worth it. Very nice employees and family.
Rasha, the owner, came from Syria as a refugee and opened up her own shop, making the most delicious treats one might imagine. If you love dates, pistachio, homemade cream, rosewater and orange water, phyllo dough etc., this is definitely the place for you to come and pick up some delicacies to have with your morning tea, afternoon coffee or dessert after dinner. Hell, I ate some for breakfast. Everything I had was delectable and I am definitely going back when I’m in the area. The owner is kind, knowledgeable, warm and friendly. It’s a pretty new space, so they have not added seating yet, but I understand that is in the works. I highly recommend!
Damascus Sweets is a charming hole-in-the-wall bakery offering authentic Middle Eastern pastries and desserts. The staff are always kind and hospitable, the prices are fair, and the shop is clean and well decorated. While we wished there had been more information about the different pastries, we enjoyed everything we tried and would happily return. We thoroughly enjoyed the pistachio latte. The chai tea latte, however, tasted very similar to the one available at Trader Joe’s. We recommend labeling the items with ingredients and prices to help customers make more informed choices.
This place is amazing! I tried the cream basbousa and it was perfectly soft. The coffee was smooth. I also tried the cream kunafa, which was uniquely delicious. The staff were friendly, and the shop had a charming vibe. I’ll definitely be back!!
