Jean Bonnet Tavern

Stayed one Wednesday night. Easy check in and out. We enjoyed dinner in the dining room, wine in our room and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Our only regrets were we did not witness any ghost activity which we heard may be observed and since it was still winter missed what looks to be wonderful gardens. Had a great visit will be back.

Had my first experience at Jean bonnet tavern on Valentine’s Day this year and I can 100% say it was well worth our 1 hour drive to get there. Atmosphere was super friendly. Our service was fantastic our meals were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the load potato chips as an appetizer.

We don't often stay at B&Bs since they're often hit or miss, but this location was on our way, and it offered two-room suites which allowed us and our son to have separate rooms. After getting confirmation via email, we hoped for the best.||The accommodations were very nice. Our suite not only had two rooms, but each had its own separate bathroom. Beds were comfortable and the rest of the decor was straight out of a couple centuries ago. Very quaint and out of the ordinary. We also had access to the upstairs porch where we sat for a little while until a thunderstorm blew through the area and soaked everything.||Dinner could be in the restaurant on the ground floor or the tavern on the 1st floor. Added this edit after the owner replied….. If you read both comments it’s obvious they didn’t care and they didn’t read the review….. I didn’t want their dessert. I was blown away that they didn’t care….. went there for an experience and I can cook a better filet myself. The owner actually said glad every bite was good or some such nonsense. I said the food was meh at best……… Went there for Valentines Day. I ordered the Filet Mignon Special that came with a crab cake and asparagus and instead they brought me the house regular filet. They took it back and it took about an hour to be fully served. The rest of my table was done before my food arrived. Flavors were meh at best but it’s not a bad value…. Manager refused to give us any accommodations. Said we could have free dessert. REALLY I W

We drove from Chambersburg to eat a late lunch in the tavern to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was charming, homey, and festive. We were warmly welcomed by multiple staff members and seated ourselves in a cozy booth. They have a varied and interesting draft list with a number of PA beers. The menu had so many delicious choices we had a hard time deciding what to order. Ultimately we ordered crab cakes and the flatiron steak and shared both. Everything was hot, perfectly cooked, and delicious. Served on pewter with fresh rolls accompanying, and generous portions we were completely stuffed. This is not a "cheap eats" place but it's a great value! Our entrees came with fresh crispy salads, and choice of two sides each. We enjoyed the slaw, cauliflower, baked potato,cand sweet potat
