Java Jacks Cafe

Java Jacks is a cute place in Tappahannock. But don't be deceived as we were into thinking this was a coffee shop. Nope. This is a full service cafe. I mean, you could get coffee to go, but if you want to sit and have coffee, it comes with waitress service. Because of the time of day (10:30 AM), we could order breakfast or lunch. The waitress was very nice. I really liked the sweet potato pancakes. If you are ever in that area in the morning, or crossing the 360 bridge, stop in for a bit. The parking lot is tight though, and it didn't seem that street parking was allowed on the side street. They even had a sign up not to park in the lot across the street for a neighboring business. You might have to go over to Church street, park there and walk back.

Went with a group of friends! One of them is a local and really wanted to take us there for our first time! The food was not too bad! The drinks seemed to be a hit with everyone! My local friend said the sweet tea was amazing, so I had mine with raspberry. Partly my own fault, but you do need to mix it before drinking it or you might get a mouth full of syrup flavoring! I got the Philly cheese steak sandwich which wasn't too bad! Almost needed a bit more cheese, and I should've asked for peppers to be added for $0.50. I ordered a side of waffle fries with it and they were also not bad! Felt like it needed some more salt, but there was some on the table I could use. Two of my friends gave me a picture of their food, so those I tagged onto this! One of them is the grilled cheese of some sort

I can always count on delicious food here. It tastes like proper home cooking but with that artisan glare that takes it above and beyond most restaraunts. There is nothing that feels fake or forced, just good quality food people and atmosphere. I ordered a “flight” of lattes! What a great way to open the senses up to trying different types without just having one big one. I am a vegetarian, my husband is not. I really appreciate all the options and accommodations at well. I got the deluxe breakfast sandwich without the ham and it was delicious! Hubs got the country fried steak and cleaned his plate! Also there is a very special person that works here. This place ain't no slop shop! My BLT was as homemade as it gets and the potato salad?! Come on! Friendly staff and charming diner atmosphere. Added bonus: the music too. Hats off to the Thursday lunchtime crew⭐

Everything was great! Good service (Thanks Mary Alice), friendly cozy atmosphere and the food was delicious! Chocolate Chip Pancakes reminded us of my Moms! ♡ RECOMMEND
