Jalapeño's Restaurant

Really good and reasonably priced. A few unique items and recipies, but overall, a really good typical mexican food joint.

This fell off our radar for a while but this was the first Mexican restaurant in Lexington. And it’s still just as good. Flavor of the steak was perfect. One of the best cheese dips in town.

My family has been eating at Jalapeno's since they opened on New Circle Road in the 70s. I also ate there regularly with my IBM lunch bunch a lot during the 80s. And then even more after my son was born in 1996. And now I eat at South Broadway location regularly. I'd say an average of once a month, sometimes once a week, for all these years. It's been consistently great service, very good food, and it's just a very welcoming place. If something isn't right, they make it right. The place is always very clean, and the service is really fast for meals that are prepared to order. I'm a very very picky eater, and for example, we ate there this week for my nephew's 36th birthday (he picks Jalapeno's every year for his bday dinner) and I wanted something I just made up - rice with grilled

The place had all the markets for a great Mexican place. The decor is awesome! The bar is separate from the dining tables. There is an outside eating area. Then comes the staff, seemingly friendly enough- somewhat rushed but friendly. It's Friday night and no time to not rush. We did not get asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. That is important when I'm 3/4 of the way finished, they could ask at that point. No matter what the atmosphere the food fell flat for me and my kiddo. I admit, we have an amazing local place near us that surpasses most of anything north of the border...this just felt like it was meh. I had the fish of the day. Walked in without notice on a Friday night with 12 people and from the time we sat down to the time we got our food was about 10-15 minutes. Without any mistakes. All of our order was correct the first time. I love the service and the care we were given. Will definitely be back!
