Jacob Swartz House B & B

Robin and Dave treated us like family for our two night stay. We were so impressed with the scenery even in the winter! The furnishings are all vintage, yet sturdy and clean. We did some of our own cooking in the well stocked kitchen. Our favorite part was the breakfast, they did a lovely job accommodating my vegetarian partner. Quaint, friendly and serene; would come again.

Experienced travelers know that special B&B’s are worth looking for. They provide a much more satisfying experience than a chain motel. The Jacob Swartz House is such a B&B. Its location on the Shenandoah River is ideal for recovering from a day of Interstate driving. The bed is comfortable and made with quality linens. The breakfast is delicious and delivered to your cottage on your time table. When you leave you realize that you have added a memorable event to your trip and go on refreshed

This charming Guest Cottage nestled in the woods above the Shenandoah River is beautifully appointed while preserving the historical nature of the whole property. You have a complete little house to yourself with 2 porches and a patio in a quiet and serene setting. Robin delivers your sumptuous breakfast to the Cottage at an agreed time and you are free to relax and enjoy the property until check-out time. The place was very clean and felt particularly safe for this time of Covid. I know we will be back to this Virginia oasis. New Market's restaurants are pretty basic so you might want to bring your own food or get take-out before you arrive. The B&B is about 10 minutes outside the town in the countryside.

Imagine your own special country cottage perched above the Shenandoah River with a lovely master bedroom leading out to a large screened in porch where you relax in the treetops. Add to that a fabulous gourmet breakfast at a time of your choosing brought to the cottage by friendly hosts, Robin and Dave. We brought a couple friends with us, cooked in 2 nights and went to the Bluestone Inn for a great seafood dinner the other night. The area is surrounded by mountain beauty, hiking and biking trails, wineries and places to relax. Wonderful city getaway place!

Jacob Swartz House is an excellent B&B. The comfortable, clean and spacious cottage is detached, quiet, private and surrounded by lush greenery. It has views on a river just below, and forests, fields and mountain ranges as you look farther. Just splendid. There are two bedrooms and two baths, plus a full kitchen & dining area, a living room with a fireplace, a separate TV/reading room, an outdoor patio, and a screened porch right outside the main bedroom. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and provided with the guests' basic needs. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining table has a view to flower gardens and a big lawn. Not that any cooking is needed while on vacation. Breakfast is sumptuous and delicious, thanks to Robin's great cooking. And just about 10 m
