Jackson Harbor Soup

Casual dining near the lake. Smoked salmon to share was excellent, nicely smoked and not too dried out. French onion soup was a bit 'thin', could have been stronger flavored broth, cheese topping was good though. Lots of chicken on the chicken Caesar, with a good dressing and fresh lettuce. Loaded baked potato was delicious, lots of bacon and sour cream. Wait staff were friendly and quick.

Perfect spot to stop for lunch on the Island! We loved sitting out at the bar and sharing our meal - soup, sandwich, pie, and a beer. What more could you want? Staff is awesome - had great suggestions and very friendly. Can’t wait to return next season!

This place was recommended to us by a pro shop employee at Deer Run. We were not disappointed. Arrived shortly before noon and there was a bit of a line but things moved quickly. Got a sandwich (JH Sub-a-Drift) for my girlfriend and I to share and it did not disappoint! Large portions of meat and delicious bread (the honey mustard dressing is great) easily filled us both for the light lunch we wanted. The soups sounded delicious and bakery on display while we waited in line was difficult to pass up. Will definitely come here again the next time we’re on the island.

I started with a mouthwatering slice of strawberry rhubarb pie that had big, sweet chunks of rhubarb and strawberry for my appetizer. Then, we shared the Tuscan bean soup and Cubano panini, both outstanding. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the beautiful water view. Well worth the drive while on Washington Island!

A diverse menu, scenic location, and excellent food. I had the Jen (essentially a turkey Rueben) and the French onion soup in a bread bowl. Both rivaled the best similar entrees I’ve had anywhere. My boys had grilled cheese sandwiches and said they were great. The building is modern and in good condition. The aesthetics are impressive, beginning with its remote location (as far from the ferry dock as possible), the driveway (a gravel road that winds through the trees), and the views of: Jackson harbor, Rock Island, the Maritime museum, and commercial fishing hulls. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available, with outdoor consisting of both a deck and lawn area, with fire pit, along the water. The only area for improvement I noted is that there’s only one bathroom for the entire restaura
