Customer Reviews
Coming from a long road trip and needed something to eat for breakfast. Jack's Restaurant was the perfect place for breakfast. The portion sizes are enough for a big fella like me and the price is right. Service is friendly and they automatically serve coffee before I sat down. I highly recommend this place if you are in Bishop.
Jack’s Restaurant & Bakery in Bishop is a great option for breakfast, although they also serve lunch and dinner as well. The place looks great and is very comfortable. Service was friendly and prompt, and the food was most excellent. I went with the Corned Beef Hash which was amazing and plentiful. She had the Blueberry Pancakes; just the right crisp outside and fluffy within (and was there really a plate under all that?) The coffee was perfect. Highly recommended.
Went for breakfast -- seated quickly and ordered food within 5 minutes. Extensive menu, fair prices. Coffee and tea were okay. Great pancakes, great hash browns. Parking lot, good bathrooms. So much wall decor, you won't even look at your phone.
If you’re driving through Bishop and don’t stop at Jack’s Restaurant, you’re doing it wrong. After a long stretch on 395, this place hits exactly how you want it to. Big portions, strong coffee, and the kind of comfort food that feels earned after hiking, fishing, or just surviving the drive. The service was fast and genuinely friendly — not fake-friendly, but small-town “we’re glad you’re here” friendly. The pancakes are massive, the hash browns are actually crispy (rare these days), and the bacon was cooked perfectly. It’s not trendy. It’s not trying to be. It’s just solid, reliable, mountain-town comfort food — and that’s exactly why it works. Pro tip: Come hungry.
Nice restaurant serving breakfast and lunch on the main drag. The interior is full of country kitsch, if that is your thing. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. I had a hankering for grilled cheese, and for less than $11, I received this huge sandwich which had at least two different types of deliciously melted cheese in it. The restaurant should add more descriptions to its menu rather than just "grilled cheese", because this was luxury. It also came with delicious, perfectly cooked seasoned fries. Highly recommended--and you don't have the huge lines like Schat's bakery does. Yet the food is as good or better!
