Jack's Hot Dog Stand

HONEST OPINION —-> I guess it really comes down to preference here. I’m not a hot dog fan and don’t usually eat them, but everyone insisted you can’t leave town without stopping here… so we did. 😐 It wasn’t my cup of tea, though the rest of the crew enjoyed it. I ordered the mac & cheese bites with a hot dog 🌭 and relish… it very basic. Nothing memorable and definitely not something I’d write home about. Honestly, you couldn’t pay me to come back.

Jacks Hot Dog Stand in North Adams is an absolute gem! Hands down the best hot dogs I’ve ever had. The chili cheese hot dog was incredible, the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the fried onions were fantastic. Even the cheeseburger was awesome, and the Jacks root beer really hit the spot. The service is great and everyone is super friendly. It’s small with only bar seating and cash only, but that just adds to the charm. For 5 hot dogs, 1 burger, 2 sides of fries and 2 sodas, it was $23 and change. Can’t beat the prices!! Definitely a must-stop if you’re ever in North Adams!

I have place “type” that I like. They all start with honest food created with an effort to make something memorable. The building Jacks is in well worn. The food is basic, but honest. Fresh burger meat, hand cut fries, meat sauce for the dogs, steamed buns and a limited menu to keep it simple. All at a terrific price. It was my first trip but I will go back anytime I’m in the area. Bring quarters for the meters!

If you're going to only eat at one place in North Adams, I recommend this being that place. We try it a little bit of everything on the menu and we're not let down at all. Even though it might look crowded the service is extremely fast.

Basic dogs and burgers with topping options. Good onion rings and fries. Mike is a hot dog and burger machine!
