Probably the best shrimp and grits I've had. I got halfway through my salad and realized I hadn't taken a picture. That was also fresh and delicious! I like the addition of broccoli. The salad dressings are made in house and very good. Two at our table had the fettuccine with chicken and said it was very good. Someone else had salmon and said it was very good and then another had the ribeye steak what she said was overdone. I believe that's how he ordered it though.

J Hartman’s never disappoints. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive, and Mr. Hartman is always on top of things making sure orders run smoothly and his customers are happy. You can tell how much care goes into this local business.

Delicious dinner Great service Table ordered: Red Snapper, Shrimp and grits and a Ribeye! Everything was cooked perfectly, salads were nice and beer was cold! 💯% recommended Also ,very nice to see/chat with the owner/operator who was walking around checking on everyone

I just wanted to share my great experience here. Hostess was very professional and welcoming. I was quickly sat with my boyfriend, and immediately greeted by our wonderful waitress, Sonya I believe. Nothing but kind words to say, she was always on top of things and gave off the next level dinning experience. She made our first time very memorable, our drink was never empty, it was timed and spaced out well, bussed the table through service, and was very attentive. We got the Ribeye Quesadillas which was excellent, a garden salad, and I got a Carolina Burger while my boyfriend got the bacon jam burger and we both loved it. I would like to give their steak options a try next time, and cant wait until we return. I wish the best for this business.

When another restaurant cancelled our Valentine's Day plans, we scrambled and wound up at J Hartman's on one of the busiest holidays of the year. We were delighted that they were able to seat us, especially as what followed was excellent food and delightful service. Our server ended up being who we'd spoken to on the phone for call-ahead seating, and she was thrilled to put a face to the voice. When the bar lacked the olive juice necessary to make a martini as dirty as we requested, the owner herself came over to apologize. (The martini was still excellent!) And all our dietary restrictions were gladly accommodated, with insightful recommendations and flexibility from our host. We'd definitely come back!
