Shelba's Place

Having lived here 2 1/2 years, I’m not sure how we have missed not trying Shelba’s Place. This is a very quaint establishment run by a family. Parking during their busy time might be difficult, but it’s worth any trouble you might have. The breakfast menu is typical of a small diner. Our order was taken quickly and arrived hot. Tola, our server did a wonderful job and she got all of our special requests perfect! (That’s a big star in our book). It’s obvious that everyone knows everyone that comes in and they are made to feel welcome. So if you want some down home cooking and friendliness without all of the fancy restaurant decor, this is your place. You come in as a stranger and leave as a friend.

This place is a cute little casual restaurant that serves simple food. I got the taco salad for lunch and it was quite good. I will definitely try other things on the menu. My only criticism is that the hours are hard to keep track of, especially on Google. They also don’t have any updated online menus. I took some pics of the food and the menu.

My husband and I love to go to locally/family owned restaurants when we go to waterfalls, and I have to say this is one of the best ones we have been to. 5 stars is not enough! Our server, Larissa, was very nice and accommodating. My veggie omelette and hash browns were excellent! My husband got the special and he was very pleased too. We will be returning when we are in the area again!

The food was hot and fresh. Service was friendly and attentive. Great hours.

Nice place for breakfast with some unique, homemade Mexican items that you don’t normally see on the menu. My wife and I stuck to the traditional breakfast foods (pancakes with bacon, omelette and hash browns) and they were delicious! Our waitress was also exceptional - she knew it was our first time there and she spent the time to explain everything. Definitely will be on our regular breakfast stops!
