Izakaya Ko

Highly recommend! Our first time visiting Izakaya Ko and we loved everything about our luncheon. Great food with excellent service and the Sake Lychee Martini was fantastic! We enjoyed the Poke Don and Chirashi Don lunches with Chicken Karaage. Our server was Hydie and she was great. Thank you so much - we will be back!

I came here in January 2026 and the appetizers and desert were amazing. The mains were just OK. My husband said the curry was a bit bland though it was described as somewhat spicy by the server. The sushi roll I had was decent, but not the best sushi overall (the rice tasted too old). The gyoza was perfect. The clear soup was probably the best I've had in Jax. The deserts were incredible (mango and strawberry mochi / matcha tiramisu). It is a bit pricey, but they also had a live DJ (Nick Fresh) and that made this an even more amplified experience. I would go back. The server was also outstanding. 🥰

We went somewhere new to us for dinner tonight. We tried Izakaya Ko on the south side of Beach Blvd just east of Penman. We've had these types of dishes before but never quite like this, in a small plates type of way. This review originally appeared in our Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group. The cool thing about small plates is you kind of order as you go. So you start with a few things, share if you want to, order more if you want, share more if too want and so on. So we started with Edamame and Gyoza. The Edamame was about the same as what I've had elsewhere but we both thought the Gyoza was special. Ventured to the Beaches to sate my curiosity for their prix fixe Japanese brunch. The decor and ambiance embody the cool elegance of charming neon signs and tasteful prints. The service was incredible; attentive, informative, and polite. The variety and quality of the brunch was exquisite.

The atmosphere was amazing. Such a great vibe from the decor to the music. Maria was great, she checked on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. The food and drinks were really good. Everything was cooked to perfection. I do wish the Takoyaki had a little more octopus in it but it was still good.
