International Pocket Cafe

I’ve been to this restaurant three times, and it’s been FANTASTIC each time! Definitely my new favorite place in the Emporium! 🤩

As soon as we walked through the door of this mostly takeout restaurant, my daughter and I were greeted cheerfully by a friendly man who immediately handed us two complimentary falafel with hummus. We ordered, and the food was prepared in front of us. Customers can see the prep area through the glass case. All the food was fresh and the case itself was pristine. I ordered a lamb gyro pocket and my daughter ordered the chicken gyro pocket. The meat was fresh and juicy. At the last moment, I ordered a side of falafel, but my daughter had already paid. When I told the owner, he said not to worry about it. That was very kind. We sat outside at a bistro table. The plaza at URI was mostly quiet on a Saturday, but there was a steady stream of customers here. The hard-working owner chatted with us

Absolutely incredible blend of spices and seasoning on the available vegetables and toppings for the falafel or shawarma wraps. Furthermore, the house made pita chips, hummus, tahini, and tabouleh were all amazing as well. There were also dark chocolate covered dates for a desert item, as a special seasonal offering. Will certainly return in the future.

Greatest place to get food ever! So fresh and delicious. Chicken falafel wrap is simply the best. Ever after 20 years it’s still amazing.

I'm glad I finally stopped in to give it a try. It was an odd time, so it wasn't very busy. The person who took and made my order was very friendly. I was handed a falafel and hummus to try while I waited. It was crispy and delicious. I ordered a gyro salad. I wasn't expecting the meat to be in a sliced patty form, but it was tasty. All the ingredients were very fresh. I really liked the herb combination on the top of the salad. I'll definitely go back when I'm in the area
