Inn at Mitchell House

I love, love, love this place!! If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is for you. Absolutely delicious breakfasts, made to order. The decor inside- spot on. Historically significant home. I feel privileged to stay here. Jim and Tracy are the perfect hosts - friendly but not intrusive. The grounds are wonderful! There is a pond and resident heron that did not mind me photographing his breakfast routine. There was a singing mocking bird in the front magnolia that sang constantly from 6:00am til dusk. How beautiful! I found myself identifying the other bird songs as I wandered about. How kind of Tracy & Jim to share this lovely place. I am looking for opportunities to return!

This is a lovely inn/B&B with friendly, helpful hosts, a delicious breakfast, and beautiful grounds with lots of rabbits hopping around in the early evening and morning. The hosts put out sherry, tea, and cookies in the afternoon and there are lovely sitting areas to enjoy the snacks. Our room was generally very nice with a comfortable bed, good, quiet aircon, and adequate lighting. Two drawbacks, the shower was located in an old style tub, which was a little difficult to get in and out of and required some experimentation to figure out how to get the hot and, cold water operating in a satisfactory manner. The other issue is location as the inn is seven miles from the nearest restaurants in Rock Hall and ten miles from Chestertown. The travel is manageable but there is really nothing

Lots of old charm, the sweetest host, and the best breakfast you'll ever eat. We had the best time. Walked around the property and saw lots of birds. The local farmers market was fantastic.

Tracy and Jim were the most gracious and interesting hosts we have ever had the pleasure of meeting and talking with. The property is beautiful and the history of the property is special. This was the most relaxing experience we have experienced ever. Hope if you are ever traveling to this area that you will try to experience this GEM! We stayed two nights here. What a charming gem! The house has such a history and character. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Wish I had more time to sit and enjoy the living room! A lovely place to stay in a really neat coastal area. Our first time to the area and we want to come back!
