Hy-Vee Bakery

I always get my kids birthday cakes here. There was a mishap with my online order, but they were quick to reassure me it would be taken care of. They do a great job and my cakes always turn out exactly how I expect them to.

Egg sandwich had bacon that was overcooked so much it was inedible. Sausage sandwich was a mess. A $24 meal that should have been $14 at the most. After a 40-minute wait. We should have gone elsewhere. Too bad.

We hired the bakery to do our cupcakes and cookies for our dessert table for our wedding. We hired them to deliver and paid the high fee because we were going to already be in the Wisconsin Dells and didn't want to have to drive back to Madison to transport the desserts. They delivered everything on time however there was an entire box of cookies completely broken and a full box of 18 cupcakes on there sides, upside down and some not frosted. We paid for 21 dozen of each and we're shorted 2 whole boxes because of the carelessness. The ones that we could use tasted fine but the fact that they delivered and ran without saying anything about their huge mistake still has my blood boiling. I would recommend not utilizing their delivery as this was absolutely unacceptable.

The baby shower cake that I pre-ordered was not pretty. The calligraphy was horrible and the cake was not even. I also requested strawberry filling and the filling was not spread evenly throughout the cake. On top of that, I requested for whipped and got buttercream instead. I asked for a price when placing the order and was told that it would be $37 but it ended up costing $51.... I am disappointed in the bakery. I will not be ordering anymore cakes from here.

This bakery has a wide variety of freshly made breads, pastries, pies, buns, cookies, and artisan breads. All the donuts are made in house and vary in complexity and price, but all of them are delicious. Premade cakes and cupcakes are available, but they will make special orders for them (and everything else) when requested.
