This place should be renamed "Hummus Paradise", as that is how hummus must taste like in heaven :-). We'd been there once many years ago, and a pre-show dinner brought us to this cozy half-basement, intimately set-up, fully vegetarian eatery again. We started with their 3-mezze deal (3 for $26), and stopped reading the long list of options after the consecutive display of our favorite veggies: beetroot, artichoke, and brussels sprout. The chunky artichoke was stewed with chopped tomatoes, but remained nicely al dente while soaked with flavors. The beetroot salad came with a surprise green herb: one may expect parsley, but it was cilantro instead, which lent it a unique aroma. For our mains, I asked for Falafel Hummus while husband ordered veggie couscous. The hummus, their specialty, was j
Never been to this place before even though it is walking distance from my home. Perhaps the fact that they are located in a basement made me overlook this hidden, small, warm and casual place. My visit was to order hummus and pita to go however, and I left impressed by their menu. The food was delicious. I have eaten in a few Mediterranean places in the area, Yasouvlaki, Ella and Miriam, and let me tell you that this hummus was better. Creamy, tasteful and the right texture. Whenever you are in the Upper West Side, pay them a visit and enjoy. I will post a full review of the place, other plates, service and atmosphere, when I return for a more formal meal. “Eat deliciously"
We went to this place after a good walk in Central Park. It’s 10 min walk from west side of CP. The food was amazing with everything felt super fresh and delicious. We tried the hummus platter and all of the different hummus varieties tasted amazing. Falafel were soft and fresh from inside. Would definitely recommend this place!
Every dish was delicious. Take-out or dine in. Must visit neighborhood place. Roasted eggplant, carrot ginger soup, tabouleh, fresh falafel! Turkish coffee and baklava for dessert!
A great spot for lunch! I had the mushroom hummus with mixed greens and it was delicious. I also tried the iced mint tea and it was very refreshing. Service is great and food comes out very quick.
