Huckleberry's Breakfast & Lunch

We had to drive to Modesto for a pediatric appointment in Monday and we had ate no food all morning. We showed up to huckleberry’s around 11am and we were greeted so kindly and felt welcomed. It was very quick, no wait time. We were sat at our table and quick enough we were asked about our drinks. By then we were ready to order as well. Food was delicious even our son loved his kids breakfast.

My wife and I ate here today and found we were only 2 of five people in the restaurant. That was nice because the service was prompt and our server was very courteous. My food came out hot and tasted great. However, my wife’s food came out cold and we weren’t asked how it was. It’s not good when a pancake, probably the easiest thing to make outside of a piece of toast comes out so cold butter doesn’t even start to melt on it. Then the syrup which could compensate for it is also cold. That’s too bad. 5 stars for my food and 1 for hers = 3. Too bad they didn’t ask how our food was. Maybe they would’ve remade the pancake or at least thrown it in the microwave.

Went in as a party of 4- 3 adults, 1 child. It was pretty busy, so the waiter wasn't as attentive as I'd have liked. Refills on drinks had to be asked for and reminded a couple of times. The food was bland and sort of disappointing. One strip of bacon was overcooked and hard (like it'd been cooked earlier in the morning and waited for me to get there) and the other one was rubbery. The rest of my party seemed satisfied with their meals, but they got lunch where I got breakfast.

The chicken was good nothing too bad the chili fries were also good they could have been tastier. They got cold kinda fast. The waitress was very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is pretty nice. Other huckleberry places might be better.

My family and I visited the Salida location this past Saturday. This was the first time that any of us have ever eaten at a Huckleberry's restaurant. We were all very impressed, not only with how good the food was, but the service was excellent as well! We ordered the catfish and fries, the California chicken sandwich, and I had the monte cristo. We also ordered two meals to go (the breakfast burrito with andouille sausage, a cup of chicken gumbo, and the double cheeseburger) for a couple of people who could not be with us. Everything we ordered came out hot and delicious. Very flavorful! The portion size was very generous as well. Everyone we encountered was really friendly, and our server was incredibly attentive!
