What a wonderful experience. Evan met us when we arrived, and his passion for the Inn was obvious from the very start! He gave us a tour of the property and escorted us to our room, explaining and telling us about he history of the Inn and it's abundance of exquisite collectibles. Unfortunately we were there for only one night, as there was a so much history and things to see. Evan is so very passionate about he property.|Breakfast was an experience in itself. Not only is Evan an outstanding host, he is quite the chef as well. |If you ever travel through Mystic, this should be a must stop place for you, you will not regret it! We look forward to returning some day.
We had an amazing experience staying here after our wedding. Evan is such a gracious host and phenomenal chef! The house and rooms are beautiful with so much charm and history. The fireplace and in-room hot made our night so relaxing. Definitely a unique and unforgettable experience!
Timeless Gem We’ve Returned to for 20 Years Some places don’t just offer a stay — they offer a feeling. This bed and breakfast is one of those rare gems. For the past 20 years, we’ve returned again and again, and each visit reminds us why. From the moment you arrive, you’re wrapped in a sense of calm, warmth, and charm that feels increasingly rare in today’s fast-paced world. The house itself is quaint, elegant, with thoughtful details that reflect both history and heart. Every room feels welcoming and comfortable— just perfectly right. Mornings are a highlight: delicious breakfasts prepared with care, enjoyed at an unhurried pace that invites conversation, reflection, and the simple joy of being present. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. The host has a gift
Evan, the Owner is the quintessential perfect host. He has a wealth of historical knowledge and adorns the property in gorgeous antiques all with their own unique story. The breakfast was delicious as Evan is also quite the culinary artist. We can not wait to return as we only had one night and it was not nearly enough. I would not recommend this location for children as it is quite full of breakables. If you are looking for a unique, quaint, historical stay this is it. You will feel as if you have stepped back in time, but still right at home.
We have stayed at a lot of hotels, resorts, Airbnb, etc. If you want posh, don't stay here. If you want warmth, welcoming, hospitable, culture and divine breakfast then book immediately. Evan isnt just a great host and phenomenal cook, he has opened his home and given us a glimpse of a bygone era. I saw a review of "clutter" and "old"...the House from 1833 and yes there is a massive amount of art and furniture for you to explore and admire, and learn about. We have stayed here multiple times and rooms have always been clean and accommodations were great.
