Holy Cow Ice Cream & Taproom

We were a party of 7, with 5 of us visiting from out of state, and had a sudden hankering for ice cream. Our usual stop was closed, which turned out to be a sweet surprise because we discovered Holy Cow Ice Cream. The staff quickly realized it was our first visit and immediately started offering samples, which was such a welcoming touch. The ice cream was fantastic! We tried a variety of treats including mocha ice cream, a birthday cake sundae, a banana split, a cookie dough milkshake, and a pecan praline milkshake. My favorite ended up being a happy accident thanks to the samples: lemon sorbet paired with black cherry ice cream. Together they were an amazing, beautiful combination. I had a delicious lunch with a Rueben,green beans and soft drink in the taproom. My friends got the daily special Hamburger Steak, but were disappointed as both said it was dry and cooked to long, one friend tried the ice cream and said it was gritty tasting. They are a new business and are on a learning curve, I wish them well. My only criticism is they need to dress more professionally. They are a welcoming and friendly group.

Literally the only place in the martinsville/rocky mount area that sells truly homemade in store ice cream. As well as daily specials and the regular daily menu as well. Just about everything there is home made and it’s amazing. Portions are amazing and the prices are right on par. It’s delicious and definitely a place worth the stop.

The food and atmosphere was great. They made me a pickle sandwich. It was perfect. The rest of my group got burgers and loved them. They played pool and had a great time. We had sundaes for dessert. Delicious.

Been saying we needed to try this place out for a while and today was the day! Love the vibe, the atmosphere, and the employees! So friendly! The food was great and the ice cream was great! You could really tell the high quality of the ice cream and it was VERY difficult to choose a flavor since they all tasted amazing. 10/10 highly recommend and we will be back!
