Holey Grail Donuts

Ever had Taro donuts before- must try if not. Freshly made to order donuts Limited flavors based on the week but they do have a few permanent donuts. Lucky enough to have tried Holey Grail in Hanalei, Honolulu, and Long Beach. But the Hanalei location is the best imo. Island feel definitely. Their coffee is really good and they use cashew milk. The classic 4 donuts are all good but the weekly specials are great. Lucky enough that we have a group of people to share multiple donuts

Most unique donuts I have ever had. The chocolate donut made with Lydgate chocolate was amazing and a must try. The coconut charcoal was my second favorite. If you love delicious donuts, or unique food, and care about ingredient sourcing you should definitely come here! Also, the owner was extremely nice and funny.

Holy Grail Donut in Kauai is an absolute must-visit. The donuts are made fresh to order, and you can literally taste the quality in every bite. The taro-based dough gives them a unique texture—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside—and the flavors are incredible without being overly sweet. Each donut is finished with care, and the ingredients taste fresh and thoughtfully chosen. The vibe is relaxed and island-style, and the staff is friendly, welcoming, and happy to explain the menu if it’s your first time. It’s the kind of spot you’ll find yourself thinking about long after you leave Kauai, and one you’ll want to come back to again and again. I know we did!

(Late review - July 2024) A viral donut shop where all the influencers raved about. It’s located in a quaint food truck area. My husband and I had high expectations from all the recs. The service was swift and courteous. Everything is outdoors so the seats are picnic tables next to the truck. The donuts are beautifully crafted, enticing to the eyes. I can’t say the taste is the same. The donut texture and flavors did not stand out nor memorable. I recalled the donuts were on the dense side. Bottom line: Not worth the hype.

The donuts were fluffy, soft, and perfectly warm but the flavors were a bit bland. We got ube, chocolate, original, and lilikoi and only the lilikoi really stood out, while the others tasted pretty similar. They didn’t have Americano, so I ordered a black coffee that tasted more like a cold brew which actually turned out great. The chocolate latte was also good.
