My husband and I stayed at the Smithton Inn to celebrate our birthdays in February, booking the Smithton Gables Retreat, and it did not disappoint. The retreat felt like home, boasting a spacious living area, a stunning floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace in the bedroom and a lovely ensuite bathroom-all filled with natural light. The Inn was quaint, and the wine bar was such a nice touch. Although we experienced a small hiccup during our stay, the owner Karen Franzone was gracious enough to rectify the situation in the end. We'd love to come back, preferably when it's a bit warmer.

This Inn is so charming-my husband and I stayed in the top apartment and it was wonderful! The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable and it was so nice to have a kitchen. The have a bar, a fire pit music on the weekend. Karen, our Hostess, was fabulous and her cooking was great. The Inn is close to major sights in Lancaster. We would highly recommend the Inn for a wonderful experience!|Charlie and Marilyn

I stayed at the Historic Smithton Inn while traveling for business and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. I was in the Chocolate Room, which was comfortable, quiet, and beautifully maintained. Every room has its own fireplace, which was a really nice touch and added to the overall charm. The entire inn is beautiful and full of history, you really feel the character of the place as soon as you arrive. Breakfast was amazing and definitely a highlight of the stay. Karen, the owner, was wonderful and made me feel welcome from the moment I checked in. If you’re visiting Lancaster County for business or leisure, I would absolutely recommend staying here and look forward to staying again!

We arrived for an anniversary trip. We'd booked the Sage Room which was downstairs and very private. It is next to the garden, but in the dead of winter with snow, very secluded and romantic. Karen the innkeeper was wonderful and her breakfasts were great. Ashley, the bartender was amazing and I got the blessing of spending a quiet Friday evening with her - cold and snow. The wine bar is nice and you can get a flight of 5 wines for $10.

Karen was a wonderful host and her inn is lovely. We felt right at home. We loved the romantic atmosphere and comforts the room had to offer. The inn is the perfect mix of beautiful historic charm and modern amenities. I must mention the breakfast was delightful and delicious. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future.
