Happy to have found this spot for a latte. The attention to detail is amazing, from the roast, to weight measured grind, controlled tamp pressure, and calibrated draw. The result is an excellent and consistent latte. The baristas are super friendly and knowledgable and happy to share coffee geek information …… But, the icing on the cake is the latte art that Nick (Nic?) does. Amazing! One more plus is that it is close to the freeway for a quick stop on the way to Tahoe

Highwire Coffee Roasters in Walnut Creek is a gem for coffee lovers! The atmosphere is warm, modern, and welcoming—perfect for meeting friends or getting some work done. Their coffee is outstanding: smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced, with clear attention to quality and craft. The baristas are knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to recommend something new. I love that they also offer unique seasonal drinks and delicious pastries that pair perfectly with their brews. Everything feels thoughtful and intentional, from the flavors to the service. It’s easily one of the best coffee spots in the East Bay. If you’re in Walnut Creek, this is a must-visit for an excellent cup of coffee and a relaxing experience.

Highwire in Walnut Creek is easily one of my favorite cafes in the Bay Area. The staff are all lovely and the expertly crafted cappuccinos are something I look forward to each weekend. The pasteries are delicious and sourced from Starter Bakery.

First off, my almond milk latte was good. It was just the right temperature, and the flavor was what I expected from a latte. The service was friendly, and they were working as efficiently as they could. The space is very stark; some may like that, though I'm not a big fan. Now the downsides. This is a cash-only business. I prefer to use cash for small transaction so that was the first inconvenience. When I got home, I had a receipt in my email, which was nice. Not so nice was being put on a mailing list without being asked! I hate SPAM!! That is one of the main reasons I don't enjoy paying with a credit card for stuff like this.
