I stopped by Hey Chicken and was genuinely impressed. The food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. What stood out even more was that the entire place was being run by one elderly gentleman. Despite handling everything himself — taking orders, cooking, and serving — he remained courteous, calm, and focused on quality. You don’t see that kind of dedication much anymore. The meal tasted like something crafted with pride, not rushed. I gladly waited, and it was worth every minute. A rare gem that deserves support. I’ll definitely be back.
My friends have been raving about this spot so I knew I had to try it out! Located in the Diamond Plaza in Rowland Heights, parking was relatively easy to find. It shares a storefront with Duke's Bakery but there is a pretty prominent sign outside too. My wife and I shared the Hey Chicken Wings Box (Original), Hey Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Hey Onion Rings and the Hey Mozzarella Sticks. All the food came out super prompt and piping hot! I loved all the seasonings that we were able to add (Cumin, Sweet Plum, Garlic and Szechuan), plus all the sauces. Unfortunately they didn't have the Hey Chicken Sauce that day so we couldn't try it. The chicken wings were super juicy and perfectly crispy. The sandwich was also very good and the meat wasn't dry at all. Overall, we had a great experience and
If you haven't tried Chinese-style fried chicken yet, you’ve got to check out Hey Chicken! This casual eatery is a gem that serves up some seriously tasty chicken dishes. I dove into the Hey Double New Orleans Chicken Sandwich for $12.99, and it features two big, juicy pieces of chicken and I was so surprised that they are full of flavor. You can tell they’ve been marinated well. Honestly, the portions are so generous that I couldn’t finish the whole sandwich, which is a win for anyone with a big appetite! Next, the unique cuttlefish ink whole chicken. I absolutely had to try it. Now, don’t be put off by the striking black color; it’s not burnt at all! The crispy cuttlefish ink batter delivers flavor, and the chicken inside is super moist and tender. I went with the Original flavor to sta
I finally got to try the Chinese Style Fried Chicken!! After busy running errands since the morning, I decided to stop by Hey Chicken to grab a quick bite. I loved that I was able to order everything at the kiosk which made it quicker and more efficient. I got myself the Hey Crispy Chicken Sandwich Combo which comes with crinkle cut fries, coke, and the chicken was moist yet crispy. The size of the sandwich is decent, but since I was still very hungry I decided to order Crispy Chicken Wrap that comes with tortilla instead of buns. I also ordered New Orleans style chicken sandwich to go for my friend. There were only several tables inside the restaurant so the set up was definitely more gear towards grab and go. The restaurant also shares space with a bakery so I was able to get some pastri
I love fried chicken so I was excited to try this chicken place out. Hey Chicken sounded really familiar and I realized they have a location in San Gabriel as well. The location in Rowland Heights seems a bit smaller since the space is shared with a bakery and some photo booths but I think it's a smart way to utilize the space. From the looks of it, Hey Chicken has a lot of to-go orders. There's a few tables to sit down if you want to eat at the restaurant. The combo specials stood out to me since the meal comes with a choice of sides and a soda. I was recommended the spicy chicken sandwich and I really enjoyed it, pretty well flavored and crispy. The popcorn chicken and fries went really well with the cumin and sweet plum dipping powder they had. I love the powder but there is a small c
