I booked this place to relax, but instead I spiraled over how much better their life choices have been than mine. Heath and Linda have created a space so serene, I briefly considered quitting my job and becoming a potter. Or a monk. Or both. Everything worked. Everything was gorgeous. And now I have to go back to my own home and pretend string lights are the same as ambiance.

You just have to be lucky enough to be invited. Let’s start with the hospitality. Heath is equal parts concierge and comic relief. He’ll pour you a questionable Portuguese red with the confidence of a seasoned sommelier — just don’t ask him to pronounce the label. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt carefully curated. The architecture radiates historic Charleston charm, while the interiors strike a perfect balance between modern elegance and cozy Southern warmth. The hosts greeted us at the door with a welcome beverage (LaCroix, vintage unknown) and immediately made us feel like treasured guests. Our suite was exquisite. The bed linens whispered luxury, possibly from a premium collection at Target, and the throw pillows seemed to multiply each time we left the room. T
