H.D. Dudt Bakery

So disappointed that the chocolate cake we ordered was white cake when we sliced into it and the writing was crooked! We had made a change in the icing from chocolate to buttercream, but I literally called on 12/4 to confirm the order was correct and the woman read me the order, chocolate cake with white buttercream icing. I emailed the bakery with photos, received confirmation that my email was received and would get a response within 48 hours, that was 4 days ago!

Really terrible poppy seed rolled cake that was not only terribly stale but tasted bitter and rancid when heated up. Donuts were very stale as well, definitely didn’t taste like they had been made the same day (Saturday). Very disappointing as the reviews were generally good and extolling how fresh everything was.

Dudt’s Bakery is no longer an option among my family members and I predict it will close its doors within 1-2 years at most: the Thanksgiving debaucle sealed their fate with father. My father has been supporting Dudt’s for 30+ years: weekly donut purchases for workplace and has always ordered pies and butter-top rolls at least a week or two ahead of Thanksgiving. This year, he was asked what topping he wanted on the cherry pie; he told the employee and she wrote it on the receipt. When he said he wanted two dozen butter-top rolls, he was told he didnt need to special order/reserve them and she would set aside the two bags for him when he came to pick up. There has to be a better way to service your customers at the holidays. Customers who pre-order and are required to pre-pay should not have to wait in the same hour and a half line that others do. You really need to find a more efficient way to handle the holiday traffic. I certainly will not do this again next year.

I orders a half sheet cake for my daughter’s graduation and specifically asks for yellow frosting with tiny blue flowers,the cake had white frosting and it tasted like baking soda!!! 53 dollars for a cake should be much better. Even my daughter who loves sweets said the cake was horrible. Not happy!!
