Fun place to explore. Gravel parking and paths. The dam is an old structure and is interesting to check out. Watch your step!!
Allows for access to Haw River above the 15-501 bridge and dam. When the water is low on the Haw, this area is a great out and back style flat water paddle.
We had fun last weekend, it was a fun time with my family. We went to this haw river and swim with my kid. Great time. If u guys have time go check it out.
Decent fishing spot. Keep a close eye and you'll see a beaver lodge in the middle of the river and signs of them chewing up trees. It's visible from an old rope swing. Cool place. Watch out for collapsing riverbank. The ground right next to the river is not stable in some areas so be careful.
Such a neat place tucked in here. Trails and river access. Pretty neat dam and hangout spot!
