Customer Reviews
This hole in the wall has been a staple of great food and happy sounds. The dark interior of the original bar is well kept and feels comforting and cozy. The menu has expanded over the decades but the staples are still on the menu. The newer section is lighter and more restaurant feel which is great for those who desire that over the dark bar feel. Service is stunning. Usually German beers on tap. It's a place for all generations to meet, eat, and watch a game.
Larry's Tenderloin Steak was NOT tender. Toughest tenderloin I have had in a long time. It was cooked to order; but I think you guys need to get a better relationship with you beef vendor or get a new one. The toast with my meal and my husband's will be appreciated by my Vizsla and Goldendoodle as it was over half burned. Dude, turn down the grill a bit and at least salt and pepper the steak before you put on. My husband said his Brautwurst platter was good. Lesson learned for me. Next time a burger or big salad for me. Sorry peeps; but it definitely was not my best experience there for food. Staff was great, quick and very pleasant. Atmosphere was relaxed.
There are precious few places to get liver and onions, and I usually have the heart steak sandwich, which is top notch. Never imagined liver on the grill, but wow! Super tender and flavorful. Delicious thick crisp bacon. Had German Potato Salad too, not quite like moms LOL. Waitresses are great. Some upholstery need a redo.
When I think of German comfort food, this is what I think of. Everything was prepared well and served hot with a smile. Attentive service.
It was my first time at the Bierstube in Hastings MN. Second visit for my partner. We enjoyed friendly and welcoming service from both our server and bartender. The adult beverages were satisfying and flavorful. We had their cheese curds and a big pretzel with beer cheese. Both were very tasty and served hot. Plentiful amounts are easily shared by two. I really enjoyed the beef brat smothered in sauerkraut, pickles, mustard. Had plenty of leftovers to take home. Prices were reasonable on both food and drinks. I highly recommend this sweet spot if you're looking for an exceptional German cuisine meal. Their menu does offer a wide selection of delicious sounding meal options.
