Harold's Chicken

When they first opened, the waits were long, but it is much better now. If you order with GrubHub you can time it so you don't have to wait in-store; everything is cooked to order, so otherwise you will wait there 20 minutes or so. This is genuine Chicago-style fried chicken and fries. It's exactly how I remember it from when I lived there. Get it with hot sauce and you won't be disappointed. (I love their chicken, but their shrimp are surprisingly good!) This place is strictly take-out.

I ordered a chicken wing basket and a shrimp basket. My chicken and shrimp were soggy like it wasn’t cooked all the way every time I pick up a shrimp the coating would come off of it. The sauce was all over the food on top of everything being soggy, and the fries were not all the way cooked. I’ve been into a french fry and it tasted like a raw potato. They wonder why these establishments always have problems and this is why consistency is key.

I had a Combo Tilapia and wings. I was told the food was cook to order. I trusted the food was good because Harold's was the stop to be. I tried it today first I didn't get the tartar sauce I asked for and the food was terrible. I know what fresh cook food look like. That looked like it was sitting in the back warmed up and served. I was extremely disappointed.

I am from Chicago, but live in Texas now. I don't have a Harold's chicken near me, so when I was visiting Minneapolis last weekend, I HAD to grad some chicken. Let me tell yalllll....it did NOT disappoint! I ordered through DoorDash and my food came HOT! I mean, the chicken breasts were smoking on the inside and my hotel was a 20 minute drive from the location. The taste was even better! I had LOTS of fries and the sauce was evenly distributed...iykyk! I have tried Harold's locations in other cities outside of Chicago and this is, by far...the best experience I have had. I will definitely order from here again if I'm in the Minneapolis area any time soon!

Honestly, this is the worst first time experience I ever had. I waited 35 minutes for eight piece mix and two piece of catfish. The chicken was really really disgusting soaked in oil and still red from inside in the catfish is literally drenched in oil. That’s insane. I will never be back, if anything, you guys should try Hooks their chicken and fish is way way better literally all the food I got from here went in the garbage right away. I didn’t even take a single bite. That’s gonna be rough to stay in business for a while.
