Steak and Cake Special with a Canal View Tried Harbor in Lewes, Delaware, located right along the canal in the downtown district, and it definitely leans toward the upscale side of dining in town. As soon as you walk in, you can feel that polished, higher end atmosphere, and the canal views make for a really nice setting. I went during the off season in early March and caught their Wednesday night Steak and Cake special. For $36 you get a six ounce filet mignon, a crab cake, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a Caesar salad. For a restaurant of this caliber, that’s a pretty solid deal. The Caesar salad came out fresh and crisp, and for the first time ever I noticed something you rarely see anymore — two small sardine strips on top, which is actually the traditional way to serve a true Ca

We were early for our reservation, so sat at the "porch" section of the bar, where the view of the canal/marina was excellent. We ordered drinks, which were well made, but it took a while--our server forgot. My wife ordered a chowder for the wait, but our server--forgot. On to dinner, the food was well made, as were the drinks. Shrimp and crab fritters were quite tasty. The shrimp pappardelle was spot on. My crab cakes were as good as any in town. But again, the server in the dining room, maybe it was me, but the brief interaction was just off. And again, my pet peeve was fulfilled when we were ready to leave, and the server and the bill were nowhere to be found. I'll have to be fair and give the place another chance when we're back in town.

The meals were phenomenal (crab cakes and veggies with andouille sausage) and the service was wonderful. Atmosphere was 10/10, too. The portions could have been bigger....they were more like crab balls, not cakes. I understand prices are skyrocketing but at that rate, don't bother to put them on the menu. The risotto was reportedly excellent as were the fish and chips.

This is the best kept secret in Delaware! If you haven’t been at this restaurant, you definitely have to stop by. Their pork chop was out of this world. It’s a thick cut of meat, but so tender and juicy; like it just wanted to melt in your mouth. One of my nephews really liked the crab cake, and the other really enjoyed the lobster tail. Grandpa said the rock fish was very good. Also, don’t forget to have the crème brûlée for dessert. My son loved it and shared some with his Mom. His Mom liked the local Golden Tilefish, but didn’t like the mango for it being a bit too ripe. You might want outside seating to have the best view of the canal. (Just look at the pictures.) Make your reservation ahead of time to ensure you get a table at this place. Ask for Tammy, our server knows the me

While the food looked delicious and plated beautifully we visited for cocktails only. Our cocktails were made perfectly and generous with the spirits. We sat in front of the actual bar in a porch area that was small but cozy with a beautiful view of the canal and the docked boats. Very enjoyable place to grab a drink. Very friendly staff.
