Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

Whenever you’re in the Santee area, you have to make a pit stop at Handel’s! There are so many incredible ice cream flavors to choose from—it’s almost impossible to decide. Definitely check their website ahead of time to see what each location has available. Tonight’s treat was an apple dumpling with scoops of the amazing blueberry cobbler, finished with a cinnamon drizzle. Easily a 10/10—not overly sweet at all and absolutely made my evening. I’ll definitely be 🏃‍♀️ for more very soon! 🍨🔥 side note if you have fur babies they have a frozen treat for them as well🤗.

One of the best ice cream places in San Diego. So many choices! Potion sizes are very generous. Try the 4 scoop sampler if you can't decide what flavor you want most. Service is fast and friendly, even when the line is long. They don't have a lot of choices of sorbet but the ones they have are soooo good! Haven't managed to find any flavor of ice cream, sorbet or sherbet so far I haven't liked. Handel's never disappoints!

Normally I love this place. Today not so much. I love love love pumpkin pie but I’m allergic to clove. Pumpkin pie anything is hit or miss. Today my husband and I stopped and I had asked if their pumpkin pie ice cream had clove, may have mispronounced it cloves with it being a long day. I got laughter from the girl at the window followed by her asking a coworker, spelling the ingredient, laughing some more, then saying I don’t think so but I really can’t say for sure. I explained it’s a common ingredient in pumpkin pie and got the same I don’t think so but I really can’t say for sure. At which point I decided to roll the dice since I have EpiPens on hand. Clove is one that will randomly send me into anaphylaxis, so it’d be nice to know if I can have these more often or if I need to be smar

Went to get ice cream on Saturday night around 6:30. Asked the counter person if I could taste a flavor. He replied "not now". There were about six people waiting for their orders and no line at my window. I took my order home and to me it really was not tasty. I ended up throwing order away. I sure wish I could sample the flavor first!! What is your locations sample policy??
