Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

Love that they have a gigantic menu of different flavors. They also offer sherbet, vegan ice cream, and sugar-free ice cream. I appreciate that it’s Daily! The only drawback was that on a Friday evening. The line was super long though it moved pretty quickly. Service is friendly.

The Baseline: The Ice Cream/Gelato Baseline consists of having quality dairy product, variety of flavors/mix-ins, and serving quantity for the price. Handles goes over the baseline on all marks. Update (September 2025): Food: I got 2 hand packed quarts and a single bowl tonight. The quarts were “Strawberry Cheesecake Chunk” and “Ohh Dough made with Oreo” which are one of there awesome flavors. The Single cup was Cotton Candy which is the sugar hit and a half with creamy goodness. Best and Favorite Ice Cream! Service: Fast, friendly Handel’s staff made it fast and efficient. Ambiance: Manhattan Village is a fun safe place to hang out. I love that Handel’s is a part of that atmosphere. Update (August 2025) Food: This is my favorite ice cream place! Oh Handels... Nothing brings me more joy than going up to the window and ordering my Oree-dough (I think they might have changed the name of the flavor, but the statement still stands). The service is fantastic, even when the line is massive, and the amount of mix-ins makes the flavors even better. In general, the flavors are interesting and match their names. I hate when an ice cream store says they have "cookie dough" ice cream, but it's like one piece of cookie dough every five bites. At Handels, it's always packed in. However, I recommend getting imaginative with your order because every flavor is good, trust me. This is not a place where you get simple vanilla. I LOVE YOU, HANDELS!!!

I love coming to the manhattan location, they are always so pleasant even if they have a line they do not rush you while you are ordering. They take their time and let the ppl know that are waiting they will be with them. I appreciate the customer service here.

I am visiting from Atlanta, and decided to try Handel’s on a whim. Not only is the ice cream excellent, but the service was as well. I’ve been back two nights in a row after dinner, and Brady has been my server both times. He has great energy and is able to connect with customers effortlessly! Will be back every night of my trip :)
