Absolutely disgusting experience. I ordered takeout. I clearly stated no shrimp due to an allergy, confirmed it again at pickup, and still found shrimp mixed into the food. That’s not just careless — it’s dangerous and completely unacceptable. Everything else was just as bad. Vegetables were drenched in soy sauce to the point of being inedible, the steak and salmon had zero seasoning or flavor, and the spicy tuna roll fell apart the second I touched it — sloppy, amateur rolling. The only halfway decent thing was the fried rice, and even that wasn’t worth the risk of eating here. Lucky for us, a friend suggested that we might enjoy Hana Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar. My goodness taking that suggestion paid off handsomely! It’s at 1620 Western Ave, Albany, NY close to the Thruway. Walking into the dim waiting area I was entranced by small fuchsia lights arrayed on a small tree. That was only the first of ongoing decorative delights. Tapestries festooned the spaces dividing table areas and decorating common areas. Decorations are nice but the food was spectacular. Delicate green tea and gorgeous sushi delighted our taste buds. And it’s served on beautiful Japanese stoneware. The service was very pleasant completing the reasons we like to eat at restaurants. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated almost immediately. The menu options ranged from affordable to expensive and there were cocktails and drinks for every taste. The wagyu fried rice was really good, as was the hibachi lamb and hibachi combination meals. Everything was seasoned perfectly without tasting full of salt which can be an issue at a lot of restaurants. Our chef Kevin was entertaining and funny and we had a really great time.

What a great experience. Shared so many dishes and we had our own chef. They shoot Saki in your mouth! Enjoyed teriyaki steak, shrimp, fried vegis and superb noodles. Great waitress and chef. Highly recommended the food and experience.

Pleasant staff, fun atmosphere and good food and drinks. A fairly typical hibachi restaurant with the usual fare and "dinner and a show" so to speak. A note for the vegetarians, our chef cooked all the vegetable hibachi meals before any meat touched the griddle. Not much else to say, but we have never been disappointed with our visits here.
