I moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and I was so excited to have a sushi restaurant so close because it’s my favorite food but this will be my last visit to Haiku. I use to be a weekly patron but since their very talented chef left it has quickly gone downhill. The previous chef created delicious, flavorful, and well made rolls. The new chef however has served lack luster flavor and poorly wrapped rolls. The menu could also use an update since they seem to just cross things off they decide not to serve anymore. The server was less than pleased to have to wait on me, I was brought water, offered no other drinks, order taken, food brought to me and asked once if the food was okay. The next time I saw her was the check. The restaurant is pretty but the music was soooo loud I coul
We came on a Monday night. It was dead except for a party, us and a few to-go orders. They kept playing the same song repeatedly, and the lighting was fairly dark. Service was fine and food came out pretty quickly. The vegetable and shrimp tempura was good. Overall, the sushi and squid salad just didn’t seem as fresh/high quality and felt a little over priced. The sushi was hit and miss for us. This wouldn’t be a go-to spot for us for sushi, but I would give their other dishes a try.
I cannot express how amazing this restaurant is. Especially since the new management took over. The food was already amazing but now it's even better! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic sushi experience. Since the new management, the service and the atmosphere has significantly improved and throughly impressed me. One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. If you're looking for good sushi/ authentic food, with an amazing experience, this is the place to go!
Worst dine in experience I’ve ever had, the old haiku would never. We were the only people in the restaurant. Drinks took over 20 minutes to get, pretty sure the sushi chef left mid shift, and my waitress had to make my sushi that ended up being room temperature and over an hour later. Haiku mind you we have been coming here for years before the management change. And there was people in your restaurant decorating watching this poor waitress struggle pretty sure it was the owner..
I ordered a large Tom Yum seafood soup with an extra $7 charge for more seafood, but it barely had any to start with. For $22, I mostly got imitation crab in tiny shreds and just a few small shrimp. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place—it’s overpriced and doesn’t give you enough for what you pay. There are definitely many better options around the metro.
