Note- Shortened review due to character limits. I was at this unique restaurant a couple of months ago with one of my groups for their PWYC Farm Dinner Series, which featured a changing five-course menu each week and featured produce from the Union Square Farmers Market. The staff were friendly, and I liked the design inside. The menu was as stated PWYC (Pay What You Can,) and an abridged version of their standard $165/$125 prix fixe, with a suggested price of $100, regardless of whether it was the Omnivore or Vegan version. For a drink, I went with a Yesfolk hojicha non-alcoholic kombucha for $13, which was delicious. In general, the portions were rather meek, so I'm not going to mention this again, or else I'd be repeating. The first course was Marinated Spigarello with charred balmuda

Celebrated an anniversary here this week—the food was delicious and the staff are wonderful. Three highlights for me were the vegan cheese course, the caramelized tempeh, and the carrot dessert! They have an excellent wine selection and a beautiful space.

Absolutely phenomenal! This was hands-down one of the most exceptional and creatively executed tasting menus I’ve ever had—vegan or otherwise. Every course was a masterclass in flavor, texture, and presentation. You can tell the chef isn’t just cooking plant-based food; they’re creating art with it. From the first bite to the last, each dish was thoughtfully composed, showcasing unexpected ingredients and bold, vibrant flavors that played off each other beautifully. The pacing of the courses was perfect, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable, walking us through the inspiration and elements of each plate. Whether you’re vegan or simply a lover of great food, this is the kind of dining experience that sticks with you. It’s a rare gem that pushes boundaries while staying deeply satisf

The food and service at HAGS was flawless. The various dishes were delicious and creative. There was perfect timing between the courses. Everything was done with genuine love. It’s obvious that a tremendous amount of thought and care went into everything — from the menu — to the decor — to the service. There’s an amazing vegan and omnivore menu. The vegan cheeses and butters are made in-house — and taste incredible. The kitchen staff accommodated my dietary restrictions — and added a creative flair. It’s a really cute, queer-owned restaurant. It’s a tiny spot — but everything is very well organized. Everyone feels welcomed, with the full complexity of their identities. HAGS was perfect in every way. I highly recommend it. 5/5 stars.

I went solo to HAGS, and sat at the bar. I would 1000% recommend this experience. This place was insane. The service was wonderful, and the place itself was beautiful. It was intimate and small. I had the vegan tasting menu, and two additional courses- a lot of their vegan substitutes and some beverages they make in house, so they had their own vegan cheese which was delicious. There were not really 6 courses, there were 8, 10 including additional. Every single one was phenomenal. It was food that encouraged you to shut your eyes to taste it, and wish there was more whilst there was also the perfect amount. This place needs a Michelin star, it trumps a few of the Michelin starred places I have been to, and I cannot believe it is the price it is. The wine pairings and non wine pairings wer
