Have been stopping by to either dine in or carryout out for as long as I can remember while raising our family in Villa Park. Now that have been about 40 minutes west for past 11 years we still find ways to get food from there very often. When our daughters were littles - getting food from “George’s” was HIGH on their food preference list. As they are both grown adults raising their families now, our grandchildren now ask for “George’s”. One of our daughters lives out of state raising her young family so not able to enjoy as much as we do - during the Christmas holidays a couple years ago she asked if our entire family could meet at “George’s”. I have been going here for years and this family-owned restaurant has the most authentic gyros in the Midwest. Every time I am in the area I make it a point to go. Their Greek salads are delicious and nobody beats their French fries! They have homemade pastries that the owner makes which are out of this world! I recommend The Gyros Express in Villa Park to everyone!

First time at Gyro Express. My expectations were high based on social media reviews. I was truly disappointed. I expected best gyro and it was just mediocre. Definitely have had better. My friend had skewer sandwich it wasn't flavorful and came with no fries. I truly understand inflation, however, prices are extremely high. One gyro sandwich, one skewer sandwich , one order of fries. two medium cokes and Greek lemon soup which was basically salty lemon broth nothing like I've had before was $44.00....way over priced for quality and portions. Guess that's why place was empty. Sorry, it's my honest review.

This gyros spot is a total win. The meat is juicy and well-seasoned, the pita is warm and soft, and everything tastes fresh. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and the sauces add just the right amount of flavor. Fast service and friendly staff make it an easy go-to when you’re craving something satisfying and authentic.

I started coming here in 1998 when I moved out this way and always loved the food. I feel bad but please review the menu with prices before you go. I walked in and had ordered for a family of 5 which came to $134. Saganaki was $15 for a small triangle. The chicken plates were $30! Sandwiches were very pricey with no fries. This is basically a grill type place, not a fancy restaurant. I'd recommend driving down the street to Apollo Grill. Food is similar and better priced. Update since restaurant reply: I was being honest and especially for families that don't realize what prices they should see. I walked in and didn't want to be rude and walk out so I paid this time but thanks for the well wishes. We will be down the street.
