Grey Hawk Bar & Gardens is a true gem in Lake Lure. It’s not just a bar — it’s a restaurant, café, music venue, and gathering space all rolled into one. The grounds are gorgeous, with waterfalls and gardens that make every visit feel like a little retreat. The food is outstanding — from the Creole Shrimp Cocktail to their decadent Mac & Cheese small plate, everything we tried was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. We had such a great experience at Grey Hawk Bar & Gardens! I ordered the Crabby Patty, and the crab patties were juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My husband had the French Dip and loved it. We both opted for non-alcoholic drinks—the watermelon basil sweet tea and the Cleaner Cosmopolitan—and they were so refreshing and creative. For dessert, we shared the Dulce de Leche cake, which was the perfect sweet finish. As good as the food and drinks were, it’s the atmosphere and the friendly, attentive service that really make this place stand out. It’s warm, welcoming, and has a vibe that makes you want to stay and linger. We’ll definitely be back!

Stopped in for a Sunday brunch after a hike in the mountain area through some boulders. The place has a very enjoyable vibe with plenty of different outdoor seating. The area seemed like sitting in a garden with covered and non-covered seating, a fire pit burning and live music. The outdoor area also has games to keep kids and others occupied and a very laid back environment. The drinks were creative and plentiful as well as having great beer and wine options. The food was very tasty and creatively presented. As another restaurant being creative to weather the impacts of the storm, they have done a great job in creating an enjoyable and embracing place to spend an afternoon with good food and drinks. Will be back for dinner sometime.

We visited Grey Hawk a couple of times while on a trip to Lake Lure and had such an amazing experience each time! Delicious food, incredible drinks and the best vibes/atmosphere. The food menus for dinner and brunch are extensive with something for everyone including lots of gluten free options, which I so appreciate! You could (and we did!) hang out there for hours. Playing lawn games, sitting by the fire, listening to live music. It was the perfect third space option for spending time outside of our Airbnb throughout the weekend. I’m just bummed we won’t be in town for any of the amazing festivals/special events they have planned for the summer. Seriously the perfect bar/restaurant for vacationers and locals alike.
