Grayslake Area Public Library

What a great community resource! Staff and volunteers here are always friendly and go out of their way to be good stewards of the community Love the emphasis on giving back (like food drive while SNAP is cut) and local book sales

The Grayslake Public Library is the coolest place in Grayslake! They’ve added so many really incredible items to borrow (board games, telescopes, GoPros, etc), their Makers center is amazing with so many different tools to use and the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. I feel grateful to have a third space our family and friends can enjoy with so many engaging programs and so much more! I highly recommend GLPL!

I brought my infant with me and the front desk was so helpful! I asked if there was a changing room in the restroom and a front desk woman got up immediately to check (the women’s restroom has one - not sure about men’s) I also had to walk outside several times with my teething infant to calm him and the desk watched my belongings everytime. I don’t expect that type of kindness from anyone but they were beyond kind! I didn’t have the pleasure of exploring too much of the building but it’s very clean and welcoming. I appreciate the seating right when you walk in - it’s very inviting and an easy place to work. The outside of the building is very well kept and there’s at least one bench that’s a rocking chair!!! I thought that was so cool. Overall a very welcoming place to work or homeschool

one of my favorite branches of the CCS consortium! little old and small but i think that's part of the charm. (absurdly large parking lot though which i kinda dislike) i also appreciate their library of things has items that i have needed and will need in the future.

I went to the Grayslake library last weekend and it's an amazing small town library. You can check out telescopes, wifi Hotspot, use the two filament 3d printers, heat presses (for tshirts), 2 embroidery machines, CO2 laser cutter/engraver, etc. Business center had scanners, Getting a card was simple & quick. Staff were very friendly. Business center has flatbed & document scanner, laminater, etc. The selection of audiobooks & dad's (including Great Courses) is broad...and if they don't have it in Grayslake, you can request it from other libraries in their network.
